Scoop 6 Races & Tips For This Saturday

The Scoop6 is a Totepool bet that is usually available each Saturday but can also run throughout big meetings such as the Cheltenham Festival. The idea is to pick the winners of the six selected races and if you do, you could win a share of that jackpot. If nobody wins, the money carries over to the next week.

That’s not all, if you have six placed horses you can win a share of the smaller place pool, and if you are lucky enough to get all six correct, you get the chance to win the Bonus Fund by picking the winner in the bonus race the following week.

Below, we’ll have the schedule for the next Saturday Scoop6, plus our predictions for each of the six races.

Saturday Racing Tips for 18th May 2024 (Newbury & Newmarket)

Twelve units got all the way through to the fifth leg last week but none of those picked out Ambiente Friendly in the Lingfield Derby trial. As a result the pool builds again with over £105k rolling over to this weekend. The place fund was won last week with 11 units earning another big dividend of over £790.

Saturday Racing Tips for 11th May 2024 (Ascot, Haydock & Lingfield)

  • Leg 1, Ascot 1:30: Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% Handicap - Way Of Life @ 8/1
  • Leg 2, Lingfield 1:50: William Hill Epic Value Handicap - If Not Now @ 15/2

With winners at odds of 22/1 and 33/1 in the opening two races last week there were just two units making it to race three but neither picked out Liberty Lane in first place. That means that a pool of almost £90k rolls over to this week's races. The place fund was won with just two units sharing a mammoth £7k payout.

Saturday Racing Tips For 4th May 2024 (Newmarket, Goodwood & Thirsk)

This week's Scoop6 consists of three races from Newmarket, a listed contest from Goodwood and two tricky looking handicaps from Thirsk.

  • Leg 1, Newmarket 1:45: William Hill Extra Place Races Handicap - Noble Style @ 11/2
  • Leg 2, Goodwood 2:05: William Hill Conqueror Fillies' Stakes - Orchid Bloom @ 10/3
  • Leg 3, Newmarket 2:20: William Hill Suffolk Stakes - Killybegs Warrior @ 16/1
  • Leg 4, Thirsk 2:40: Vickers.Bet Thirsk Hunt Cup Handicap - Thunder Roar @ 6/1
  • Leg 5, Newmarket 2:55: William Hill Palace House Stakes - Twilight Calls @ 9/2
  • Leg 6, Thirsk 3:15: Download The Vickers.Bet App Handicap - Maximum Impact @ 8/1

Prize Fund

Last week's Scoop6 units were all knocked out at the halfway stage meaning the jackpot, which was north of £73k, carries forward to this week's pool. The place pool was won however, with just under 15 units collecting an extremely healthy £511.60 dividend.

Saturday Racing Tips for 20th April 2024 (Ayr & Newbury)

Offering an appealing mix of Group class action, a big-field flat handicap, and one of the leading staying chases of the season, this week's Scoop6 menu is a cracker. Hopefully, the following six stars will enhance the entertainment by bagging us a share of the prize pool.

Always a tough card to navigate, no players managed to crack last weekend's Grand National code – Strong Leader doing most of the damage when upsetting the more fancied contenders in the Liverpool Hurdle to reduce the number of remaining tickets to five. Ten players each picked up an excellent £627 for the place side of the bet, but the win pool rolls over, meaning we should be in for a £50,000+ pot this weekend.

Saturday Racing Tips for 13th April 2024 (Aintree)

Following the low-key all-weather action which dominated last week's Scoop6, the makeup of this week's menu could scarcely be more contrasting. Hopefully, the following six stars will go close to landing us a big prize on the biggest racing day of all.

  • Aintree 1:20 William Hill Handicap Hurdle - West Balboa @ 7/2
  • Aintree 2:30 William Hill Handicap Chase - Crebily @ 7/2
  • Aintree 3:05 JRL Group Liverpool Hurdle - Hiddenvalley Lake @ 13/2
  • Aintree 4:00 Randox Grand National Handicap Chase - Galia Des Liteaux @ 28/1
  • Aintree 5:00 My Pension Expert Maghull Novices’ Chase - Hercule Du Seuil @ 6/1

This week has seen an expanded Scoop6 offering, with the bet available on all three days of the Aintree Grand National festival. With the Friday pool still live at the time of writing, the exact size of this week's pool remains unknown, but using the 2023 Grand National Day as a guide, we should be in for a pot of at least £40,000.

Saturday Racing Tips for 6th April 2024 (Kempton & Chelmsford)

Following last weekend’s damp squib of a Scoop6, the tote has made a smart move in plumping for an all-weather menu this Saturday. Hopefully, the following six sand lovers will guide the way to a share of the snowballing prize pool.

  • Kempton 2:05 Virgin Bet Daily Price Boosts Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes - Many Tears @ 4/1

The late abandonment of Musselburgh spoilt the Scoop6 party last weekend, seeing the bet effectively become the Scoop3, encompassing the three remaining races from Haydock. Two winning favourites from those three contests saw 31 players solve the puzzle and pick up £226.80. A bumper 544 punters bagged £6.40 from the place side of the pool. Due to the abandonments, the huge rollover pool was held back for a week, meaning players can take aim at a £100,000 prize pot this weekend.

Saturday Racing Tips for 30th March 2024 (Haydock & Musselburgh)

As ever, the Easter weekend provides a cracking menu of racing entertainment. Hopefully, the following six stars will send us into the Dubai World Cup and Irish Grand National meetings on a high.

  • Musselburgh 2:25 Virgin Bet Silver Arrow Handicap - Poet Master @ 11/4

There was another blank afternoon for Scoop6 punters last weekend. Zminiature was relatively hard to find in the opening Brocklesby Stakes, but close to 700 lines made it through to Leg 2. However, that number reduced to just two following the 22/1 success of I Love My Baie – Look Back Smiling seeing off the two remaining players in leg 3. Last week was, in fact, so tough that no one even managed to pick up a dividend from the place side of the bet. On we go to Easter Saturday, where the bumper rollover is expected to surge past the £100,000 mark.

Saturday Racing Tips for 23rd March 2024 (Doncaster & Newbury)

It’s always refreshing to see top-quality flat action return to the Saturday racing menu – particularly when accompanied by a bumper rollover Scoop6 pool. Fingers crossed that the following six stars take us close to a share of the spoils.

  • Newbury 2:10 Bet In-Play On Racing With BetVictor Novices’ Handicap Hurdle - Kartoon And Co @ 11/2

The Dan Skelton duo of Santos Blue and Boombawn proved popular in the opening two legs last weekend, but things went quickly downhill from there. Gwennie May Boy reduced the number of remaining entries to 19. Then, 19 became one following the success of Outlaw Peter, and one became zero following the back-to-form victory of Beauport in the penultimate leg. A total of 210 entries clung on to grab a £43.50 place dividend, but the jackpot continues to build, with £66,817 rolling over into this week's win pool.

Saturday Racing Tips for 16th March 2024 (Uttoxeter & Kempton)

You can never get too much of a good thing and, despite the overload of racing action provided by the Cheltenham Festival, we are already looking forward to another cracking Saturday of entertainment. No punter made it past the halfway mark on Day 3 at Cheltenham, meaning close to £40,000 rolled over into Gold Cup Day. With the Day 4 card looking at least as tricky as the preceding days, there must be a good chance that we are looking at a quadruple rollover, closing in on £100,000 for this Saturday’s bet.

Saturday Racing Tips for 9th March 2024 (Sandown & Wolverhampton)

With Cheltenham looming, there couldn’t be a better time to give add to the betting bankroll. Hopefully, the following six selections can guide us through the tricky puzzle and at least grab a share of the place pool.

  • Sandown 2:25 Betfair Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle - Bad @ 6/1

There was no luck for punters in the win pool last weekend. Over 3,000 tickets made it through the first leg, but the wins of Heltenham and Cracking Rhapsody reduced the list of remaining entries to just nine by the end of Leg 4. The nail in the coffin came courtesy of 20/1 shot Pinot Rouge at Doncaster, although 41 tickets did survive to pick up a £174 place dividend. All of this increases the incentive for players this week, with over £50,000 rolling over into the win pool.

Saturday Racing Tips for 2nd March 2024 (Kelso, Newbury, & Doncaster)

Another difficult challenge this week, with a snowballing jackpot. Hopefully, the following six noble steeds will go close to giving us a boost ahead of the Cheltenham Festival.

  • Kelso 1:42 bet365 Handicap Hurdle - The Kalooki Kid @ 5/1
  • Newbury 1:55 BetVictor Greatwood Gold Cup - Grandeur D’Ame @ 9/2

  • Doncaster 3:40 Grimthorpe Handicap Chase - Undersupervision@ 6/1

The well-fancied Mark of Gold and Anglers Crag provided a solid start for punters last weekend, but by the time 12/1 shot Classic Concorde and 15/2 chance Forward Plan landed legs three and four, the number of remaining tickets in the win pool stood at one. The last punter standing bit the dust in leg 5, but 80 tickets picked up £81.50 for their share of the place pool. The good news this week is that we have £37,817 rolling over into the win pool, meaning we should be in for a Scoop6 well in excess of £50,000.
